Formation of the BRANCH POND ASSOCIATION Background Information Two informal meetings of concerned Branch Pond property owners were held July 27 and August 1, 1982. Those attending shared their views about the reduced level of service received from the City of Ellsworth in the past several years. Recognizing our relative powerlessness to effect change operating as individuals, all agreed that some form of group action and official organization would be essential. Such an organization would have many purposes, including:
It is assumed that legal counsel may be required in the initial phase of forming an association and later to assist the membership in interpretations of law. To cover such legal services, as well as printing and mailing costs, it was decided that a $10 membership fee be solicited from all property owners wishing to be represented by the Branch Pond Association. It was also decided that canvassing for membership would transpire during August 1982. Meetings of a board of representatives from roads surrounding the Pond will follow in September. The following representatives comprise the current organizing board:
