COMMITTEE AMENDMENT "." TO LD 824, Resolve, To Improve Fisheries Management in Hancock County Amend the bill by striking out everything after the title and replacing it with the following: Sec. 1. Building of boat launch; access road. Resolved: That the Department of Conservation shall as expeditiously as possible apply for any permits necessary to build a boat launch on a parcel of land owned by the department on Branch Lake in Hancock County. The Bureau of Parks and Lands within the Department of Conservation shall proceed with building the boat launch as soon as the permits are approved. Assuming permits are granted, the bureau shall cause the launch facility to be constructed and open for use no later than November 1, 2003. The bureau shall proceed with the design and planning for an access road to the boat launch from the Happy Town Road in Ellsworth. This access road must be constructed and open to the public for motor vehicle traffic no later than October 1, 2004. SUMMARY This amendment replaces the Resolve and is the majority report of the Joint Standing Committee on Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry. It directs the Department of Conservation to proceed with plans to construct a boat launch on Branch Lake in Ellsworth. It requires the boat launch to be constructed by November 1, 2003 and an access road from the Happy Town Road to be constructed and open to public traffic by October 1, 2004.
